  • Gurmat Camp by Sikh Students Federation at Gurudwara Manji Sahib (Alamgir) Ludhiana

    The Sikh Students Federation organized a Gurmat Camp at Gurudwara Manji Sahib, Alamgir (near Ludhiana). This camp was organized at the district level from 29April, 2007.

    In the first session of the camp the students introduced thereselves to each other and also shared information, views and their feelings regarding JUNE '84. At the end of this session S. Parmjeet Singh Gazi (President of Sikh Students Federation) summirized the whole discussion.

    In Second session of this camp S. Sewak Singh, Sub-editor of Sikh Shahadat (Punjabi Monthly Magazine). shared his views with the youth attending the camp. He preferred to share general views with the young students instead of deliviring lecture on any specific topic. He emphasized that we should not accept ready made assumption on any matter especially concerning our history and religion. He said in contemporary period the things are changing with such a speed that we do not get sufficent time to think upon then but where ever we realize that something wrong is going on we should stop there and try to finds the reasons behind it and the possible better replacement. When we say that some structure or a state of things is not suitable to us then we should its develop alternatives.

    At the end of the camp a book enqlabbi lehran de parsang vich sikh lehar authored by S. Jagjeet Singh was presented to all students attending the camp by Sikh Students Federation. Besides this five sets of three Punjabi Books was given by the Federation to its Guru Nanak Engg. College Unit for a unit level library.

    Durring the camp the stage was conducted by S. Kamaljit Singh (Press Secretary of Sikh Students Federation).
