  • Sikh Students Federation organized a three Day Gurmat Camp at Sultanpur (Kapurthala)

    The Sikh Students Federation organized a three day Gurmat and Youth Awareness Camp at Sultanpur Lodhi, Kapurthala (Punjab). This camp was held from 16 to 18 February, 2007 at Gurudwara Sant Ghat Sahib near Vaen. On first day the students and youth attending the camp visited and pay homage to various historic Gurudwaras located in the old city of Sultanpur.

    A view of the Camp

    In this camp Prof. Prabhsharnbir Singh, Ex-Vice President of Sikh Students Federation delivered his lecture on the topic of “Challenges before Sikh Youth in 21st Centaury”.

    Prof Harpal Singh Pannu, Head of Religious Studies Department, Punjabi University (Patiala), also shared his views with the youth attending the camp. He discussed various aspects about the life of Baba Farid Ji.

    Professor Devinder Singh Mohali, shared also his views twice in the camp. Firstly he discussed the importance of Study of History and ways of its study. He disapproved the present system of study of history. He said this is the main fault of present education system that it has reduced the importance of many event of history, which carries great importance in present day life. Second time he shared his views on various aspects of Professional and Job-oriented Education.

    On last day of Camp Prof. Jagdish Singh Mukerian delivered his lecture on “Quest for Sikh Vision”. He emphasized to broaden the space of our vision. He made an critical-cum-analytical study of various Sikh organization of contemporary time including Damdami Taksal, Akhand Kirtani Jatha, Sikh Missionary Colleges, Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, Sikh Press, Federation and Shiromani Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee, with a views to clarify his topic.

    S. Mandhir Singh, Ex-President of Federation also shared his views at the camp.

    At the last of the camp S. Parmjit Singh Ghazi, President of SSF announced the camp closed with thanking remarks to all who helped the Federation to organize the camp. Students and Members of SSF from all over the Punjab attended this Camp.
