The Sikh Students Federation has already criticized the acquisition of 372 acers of Land of farmers of three villages of Barnala Distt. Now Federation has decided to educate the masses against 'acquisitions'. Actually this land was acquired by the Punjab Government for an industrial group named Trident. The land is very fertile one and it belongs to farmers of Dhaula, Sanghera and Fatehgarh Channa villages of Barnala.
Federation's General Secretary S. Hardev Singh Karnal informed the press from Federation's Patiala based sub-office that Federation is going organized "Save Land Save Punjab" march in the affected district as well as neighbor district Mansa. These marches shall be carried on 7th Feb, 2006. In Barnala the march shall cover Bhadaur, Barnala, Fatehgarh Channa, Sanghera, Bajedke, Mehal Kalan, Maur, Tapa and other villages also. Similarly in Mansa also the March shall cover a large number of Villages.
He also informed the media that a document in form of poster on governments of last 60 years shall be issued during the marches tomorrow. This poster shall be covering main issues of Punjab like 'Selling to Punjab Waters', Debts on Farmers, Land Acquisitions, Drugs, Education and Mass Human Rights Violation.
"Save Land Save Punjab March" shall be lead by SSF's President S. Parmjit Singh Ghazi in Barnala, where as S. Hardev Singh Karnal shall be leading the march in Mansa. Sikh Students Federation is also considering to support the program of farmers to free the land from Trident on 9 Feb, 2006.
